LPYC June 2023 Work Day
Under a warm but thankfully rain free morning, seven members of the LPYC tackled several maintenance jobs. First up was replacing the old rusted mast crane cable. After some initial struggles with the old wire, the new wire attached to the old, to be pulled through the top pulleys of the mast crane.
While rest of the crew tackled painting the Knotta Yachta barge with a fresh coat of stain/sealer to the deck and tables and benches on the barge.
Thanks to Ashley, Brent, Peter, Ben, Joe, Steve, and Lynn for making the work day such a success.

2023 Spring Fling Race and Dock Party.
After several postponements due to weather, Lake Palestine Yacht Club held their annual Spring Fling race and dock party. On a challenging very light wind race, six boats competed. Jim Stevens took first place in the shortened race course.
Following the race at Lake Palestine Marina docks, Brent Boyle performed a renaming ceremony on his boat, giving the boat it's new name of Splendiferous.
Afterwards John Springer, aka master grill chef cooked burgers and brats on the grill. Despite the lack of wind, weather was delightful for the event, and several members even spent the night on their boats.
