The Lake Palestine Yacht Club held their 2024 annual meeting at Roma's located in Tyler. Attended by 16 members, the club elected the officers and directors for the 2024 year. The current incumbents running unopposed were reelected by acclimation. The directors reelected for 2024 were Steve Lowe, Peter Pitonack and Lynn Easley. Officers chosen for the 2024 year are Brent Boyle as Commodore, Steve Lowe as Vice Commodore, John Springer as Treasurer, and Lynn Easley as Secretary.
Newly elected Brent Boyle discussed possible events for the 2024 year. Some of the events planned are the Spring and Fall races, a summer series of races. The third Friday socials are expected to continue. Other events include dock parties and overnights on the boats.
LPYC 2023 Turkey Trot Regatta and Dock Party.
Lake Palestine Yacht Club held their annual Turkey Trot Regatta on November 18th. With light and often fluky winds, the participants were never the less able to complete the race with only one slight mishap of one boat temporally running aground.
Here are the results of the race.

LPYC June 2023 Work Day
Under a warm but thankfully rain free morning, seven members of the LPYC tackled several maintenance jobs. First up was replacing the old rusted mast crane cable. After some initial struggles with the old wire, the new wire attached to the old, to be pulled through the top pulleys of the mast crane.
While rest of the crew tackled painting the Knotta Yachta barge with a fresh coat of stain/sealer to the deck and tables and benches on the barge.
Thanks to Ashley, Brent, Peter, Ben, Joe, Steve, and Lynn for making the work day such a success.
