MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES

 

Present at meeting: Brent Boyle, John Springer, Rich Munson, Peter Pitonak Joe Greco, and Lynn Easley

 

Call to order by Brent Boyle.

 

Present Minutes from last meeting

The minutes were presented by Lynn Easley.

Motion to accept minutes by Peter Pitonak, seconded by Rich Munson.

 

Financial Report

 

Financial report was submitted by John Springer.

 

Receipts:

 

Receipts through March 8th 2025 were $1,300.00, which are dues from thirteen members.

 

Disbursements:

 

Disbursements through March 8th 2025 were $1,137.59 and are summarized as follows.

 

$303.70 Social – Membership Meeting.

$600.00 Slip and Locker Rental.

$225.89 Equipment – Pump Rental and Tractor Tire Tubes. No charge for the first two pumps that didn’t work.

$8.00 Copies.

 

 

Surplus/Deficit:

 

L.P.Y.C. has a cash surplus through March 8th 2025 of $162.41.

 

General Comments:

 

The cash balance at March 8th 2025 is $16,413.88 which includes $9,144.61 from the capital fund.

 

Treasury’s report was accepted by Peter Pitonak, and seconded by Rich Munson.

 

 

 

Officer and Directors Reports

Brent Boyle – Will miss this weekends race and St. Patrick’s social. Confirmed hosting the June social.

 

John Springer – Noted that we just received payment from a previous member renewing.

 

Rich Munson – Thanked the members that showed up to help with the barge repairs and especially Nat Hart for the repairs. Had a large turnout of people willing to help.

 

Joe Greco – Remarked that the club would need to do more advertising to attract new members as sailing is not often thought of in this area. Although the liability question always comes up.

 

 

Old Business

Slip Waiting List:

Steve Lowe – Inner larger slip should one become available.

 

Vision Committee Report:

 

No new updates.

 

LPYC Calendar Updates:

 

The Christmas Party date was set for December 6th. An additional dock party was scheduled for October 17th. The dock party for April 11th was changed to April 18th to coincide for the Third Friday Social Events.

 

New Business

Barge Expenditures for Docking Improvements:

It had been suggested to add a pulley system to the mooring arms so that their height can be adjusted from the dock to keep them horizontal. John Springer agreed to spearhead the process in acquiring the pulleys.

 

 

Upcoming Events:

Saturday Series Race is scheduled for March 22nd Brent Boyle will miss the event, but will send out the email for the race. Lynn Easley will collect the race time from any participants. Several alterations of the race course were discussed, but require either a committee boat, or at least someone to set and retrieve the race buoys.

 

The Springer’s will host the St. Patrick’s Social on the evening of March 22nd. Appetizers and desserts are welcomed.

 

The next Saturday Race is scheduled for April 5th.

 

The April meeting is set for Saturday April 12th at 11:30.
