Old Business
Slip Waiting List:
David Kinsey – Not sure if boat would fit in any of the slips.
Steve Lowe – Inner larger slip should one become available.
Meeting with Upper Neches River Authority:
Brent Boyle said he meet with them on an unrelated item. The current director is still there. Apparently they are still looking for his replacement.
Ben Hooks noted in the past they have offered several locations. Most were too shallow for deeper drafted boats such as sailboats and would require dredging. He did mention though, in the past four foot draft vessels could make it up the area behind Kilo’s. If the lake authority did offer a lease for that area or others, suggested a slow build up. Maybe one year build a covered place. Then each of the next years continue improving the location such as adding a location to work on boats, and maybe dredging the channel deeper.
New Business
Upcoming Club Events:
Sept 15th Third Friday Social – No one has volunteered to be the host.
The question did come up about does the club reimburse members that hold the even in their house. The club traditionally only pays for the refreshments at dock parties and the Christmas Party and the annual Meeting. Since the host has the option of having the Third Friday at any venue of their choosing, the club doesn’t currently reimburse for their expenses.
Sept 23rd Fall Series Race – Brent Boyle will send out email reminding users of the race. The race course will be the same one utilized in the past going from a starting line off the docks of Lake Palestine Marina, around a no wake buoy located in the entrance of County Line Inlet with a port rounding and back.
There should be no need for a skipper meeting before hand.
October 7th Fall Series Race – Same as the September 23rd race.
October 14th Third Friday – Will need to confirm with Peter Pitonak that they still plan to host the event and on that day.
October Discussion on Race Rules – Ben hooks is no longer interested in debating the race rule regarding his boat and spinnaker it is rated with, that his boat isn’t setup to use one.
Date and Time of Next Meeting:
The next monthly meeting in October, with time and place to be decided later.
Adjournment:
Motion to adjourn by acclimation.
