MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES

Financial Report
No updates or changes reported on the financial report.
Receipts:
Receipts through May 8, 2019 were $2,345.00, which consists of current dues from twenty-three members.
Disbursements:
Disbursements through May 8, 2019 were $912.84 for operations are as follows.
1. $385.00 Storage Locker Rent.
2. $281.22 Social – January Annual Meeting & Cheeseburger in Paradise.
3. $125.02 Slip Rental.
4. $70.00 Post Office Box Rental.
5. $21.60 Trophies – Engraving “Spring Cup”.
Surplus:
For operations, receipts exceeded disbursements resulting in an operation surplus of $1,432.16
General Comments:
The cash balance as of May 8, 2019 is $15,912.46 The cash balance one year ago was $15,568.84 We have twenty-three dues paying members thus far in 2019.
Officer and Director Reports.
Chuck Brazell – Suggested if the fall Saturday events are too involved, would be to have the open sailing to the public, invite some one to go for a sail event could be done on one of the Wednesday evening events in the Fall. Steve Lowe noted that one yacht club in south east Texas has a free lesson session for interested persons every week.
Rich Munson – The next Third Friday’s was originally scheduled for the Studio Movie Grill, but several directors were less than enthused with the current movie selection and event. The directors decided to table the event to perhaps during the fall. An alternative selection was chosen, Cantina Laredo for this months event.
Rick Walker – Will check with Ross Hays on his schedule from the end of September through the first part of October before the Regatta to see when he might be available. Once a date is found, he will go ahead and reserve the Presidents Room at Emerald Bay for the event. The event will be open to non-members and discuss weather as related to sailing. Ricks’ other speaker, Bella Eisenhower, will have a more flexible schedule for a presentation.

The next third Friday social will be held at the Cantina Laredo on July 19st, at 6:00 pm.
Date and Time of Next Meeting:
Due to difficulty getting a table at this months meeting, and for a change, it was decided to have the next meeting at Coyote Sam’s Restaurant on Wednesday, August 14th, 2019, at noon.
