MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES
Present at meeting: Ben Hooks, Steve Lowe, Chuck Brazell, Dana Adams, and Lynn Easley.

Present Minutes from last meeting
The minutes were presented by Lynn Easley.
Motion to accept by Steve Lowe, seconded by Chuck Brazell.
Financial Report
The financial report was presented by Steve Lowe.
General Comments:
Their have been no change in the cash balances since the last meeting. No new disbursements or deposits have been recorded The cash balance as of August 8th 2017 remains at $16,344.19.
Motion to accept treasury report by Lynn Easley, seconded by Dana Adams.
Old Business
Sign at Marina Entrance Gate:
LPYC received permission to mount one of the signs at the front entrance gate leading to the slips. The only condition was it to be installed using tie-wraps. It is hoped to be installed by the end of the week.
Fall Regatta Date:
It was agreed to go ahead and set the date for the Fall Regatta on the last weekend of October, which would be Oct 28th, and Oct 29th. Checking with Tyler Yacht Club, they haven’t set their Fall Regatta series yet. Ben Hooks will check with the regatta committee chairs to see if they are still available. It is expected to require fewer meetings since most of the planning has been done all ready.
Saturday Races Series:
Ben Hooks will arrange a meeting with Jim Stevenson, Chuck Brazell, Bob Coker, and himself to discuss suggestions to the Saturday Race Series to incorporate a Portsmouth rating system in, or around the current race series.
Wednesday Night Races:
The LPYC plans to restart the Wednesday Evening Races in September. With hopefully cooler temperatures, more breezes, and more members back in town. Ben Hooks, Chuck Brazell, and Lynn Easley will coordinate on the events.
New Business
Director Resignation:
With the effective immediately resignation of John Owens from the board of directors, the current directors listed several names of people who might be willing to be appointed to the remainder of his term. The two directors who terms expire in January are Chuck Brazell, and Lynn Easley.
Upcoming Social Events:
The next social event is on August 17th, at Aspen Creek Bar and Grill. It was also suggested that the club should pay for one of the upcoming meals, possibly in September to encourage participation. The best attended events are the ones in which the club provides the meals.
Next Director Meeting:
The next meeting is scheduled for September 12th, at 5:00 PM at Ben Hooks office.
