Spring Fling Cup Race and Dock Party 2024

Forecast high winds and gusty conditions deterred some participants this year. With that in mind, the 2024 course was shortened to remain in Saline Bay which is somewhat protected from the gusty south winds.

Brent Boyle on his Beneteau 35 and Lynn Easley on his San Juan 24 participated in the race. On corrected time, Lynn took first place, with Brent finishing in second place.

Afterwards John Springer cooked up burgers on the Notta-Yacht barge. Which turned out to be a pleasant evening to hang out on.

LPYC 2023 Turkey Trot Regatta and Dock Party.

Lake Palestine Yacht Club held their annual Turkey Trot Regatta on November 18th. With light and often fluky winds, the participants were never the less able to complete the race with only one slight mishap of one boat temporally running aground.

Here are the results of the race.

Spring Fling 2022

Congratulations to Ben Hooks and Bob Coker for finishing first in the annual Spring Fling Race. Under breezy conditions 5 boats participated in the race. The starting and finish line was just off the Lake Palestine Marina docks, down to Mallard's Bay, and back.

That evening the club hosted the "Cheeseburger in Paradise" dock party with grill master John Springer serving up burgers and brats on the dock. While rain showers before the event dissuaded some participants it made for a pleasantly cool conditions.

Spring Fling 2021

Congratulations to Ben Hooks for winning the 2021 Spring Fling Race. Five boats participated in the race from Lake Palestine Marina down to a buoy located in Mallard's Bay and back. Despite the challenging weather this spring, the weather turned out great for the race.
