The Lake Palestine Yacht Club had their annual meeting at Coyote Sams in Tyler. Approximately twenty six members and guests showed up hear and discuss proposals for the up coming year.

Rick Walker opening the meeting

Rick Walker opened the meeting with some bad news of Emerald Bay Marina shutting down. Due to the costs of taxes, liability insurance, and the extensive maintenance required of the "A" and "B" docks the owners are not interested in the marina business.

Rick then mentioned that he has been in talks with the owners about the long term future of the marina and the property associated with it.

The meeting then took an intermission to enjoy their meals.

After the meal, a proposal was presented to add dock-age to Lake Palestine Marina for deeper draft boats. This dock would be in the shape of a star similar to the one currently at "A" dock. The center section could be covered over to provide recreational area.  This proposal has already presented to both the lake authority and the owner of the marina.

Awards were presented by Warren Lyon to Bob Coker for finishing in first place in the 2012 LPYC race series, and Lynn Easley for second place.

And finally, directors and officers were installed for the 2013 year with Rick Walker as Commodore, Steve Lowe as Vice Commodore, Lynn Easley as Secretary, John Springer as Treasurer, and Warren Lyon, John Owens, Bob  Pryor as board members.

Here's to a great 2013 year!
